Is your pool plaster rough, stained, or cracking? It might be time…

Pool plaster is the barrier between your water and the concrete shell underneath. When it fails, you get leaks, stains, rough surfaces, and water chemistry problems that cost more every month you wait. Most pool plaster in the Phoenix valley lasts 7 to 12 years before it needs replacement — less if water chemistry hasn't been properly maintained.

AJ's Signature Swimming Pools has been replastering and resurfacing pools across Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Cave Creek, Fountain Hills, and the Phoenix East Valley since 2010. With 28 years in the industry and over 600 completed projects, AJ knows pool plaster — the hard water, the summer heat, the mineral and salt deposits, the UV exposure — and how to choose the right surface for your pool and your budget.

Every pool is different. AJ will inspect your pool, discuss your goals, and recommend the surface that fits your budget and expected lifespan.

Standard White Plaster — The most affordable option. Clean, classic look. Typical lifespan of 7 to 10 years with proper water chemistry. Best for homeowners who want a cost-effective resurface without premium upgrades.

Color-Tinted Plaster — Same application as standard plaster with pigment added for a custom look. Blues, grays, blacks, and earth tones available. Same lifespan as standard plaster.

Mini Pebble — A blend of small natural pebbles and cement that creates a durable, textured finish. More stain-resistant than standard plaster. 10-year warranty with a 25-year life expectancy when maintained properly. The most popular upgrade for Scottsdale pool remodels.

Pebble Finish — Larger natural pebbles for a more dramatic, high-end look. Same durability and warranty as mini pebble. Excellent for pools where the surface is a design statement.

Here's something most pool plastering companies won't tell you: the number one reason pool plaster fails prematurely in Phoenix is bad water chemistry — not bad plaster. Unmanaged cyanuric acid levels, high total dissolved solids, and improper calcium hardness will destroy even the most expensive surface in 3 to 5 years.

AJ started in the pool industry in 1998 as a service technician cleaning 115 pools a week. He understands pool water chemistry at a level that most plastering-only contractors simply don't. When AJ resurfaces your pool, he doesn't just apply a new surface — he evaluates your water chemistry, your equipment, and your maintenance setup to make sure the new surface lasts its full expected lifespan.

This is the difference between a pool plastering contractor and a pool professional with 28 years of complete system knowledge.
